The final Summer Splash gives me the opportunity to go one on one with Catherine Banks and ask the questions readers want to know the answers to: Question: What genre would you say your books fall into? Answer: YA Fantasy Question: Are there any trigger warnings and/or explicit content readers should know about? Answer: There is violence, but it is not overly descriptive or grotesque. Question: What advice do you have for new writers? Answer: Write and write often. Question: Where do you write? Answer: It varies. At my desk, my table, on the couch while my kids are watching cartoons. Question: Are your characters real to you? Do you speak to them? Answer: They are definitely real to me. I don’t tell them where to go, I just write their story as they see fit. Question: What piece of advice from other authors do you hear the most but choose to ignore? Answer: Getting an agent. I have enjoyed my experience as a self-published author. One day I might search for an agent and try to publish traditionally, but for now I’m enjoying my experiences. Question: Which do you prefer Novels or Novellas and why? Answer: Novels because I enjoy longer stories. I have written a couple novellas and read some amazing ones, but I prefer novels. Question: Are there any Easter eggs in your book(s)? Answer: No. Question: What's your favourite food? Have you ever mentioned it in your book(s)? Answer: Bacon and eggs and yes they are used as a breakfast food in my books. Question: Do you have a writing Motto? Answer: “If I don’t write to empty my mind, I go mad.” ~Lord Byron Question: If you could change the date to any year past or future, what date would you change it to and why? Answer: If I could come back, I would go to the future to see what happens to our world in the next ten years.
